Drainage:
Sufficient drainage to ensure we would never have to
replace the foundation again.
Berkeley Construction coated the concrete with asphalt
waterproof coating, then insulated with two inches of rigid foam
insulation. To break up the capillary action of the soil, they placed mira-drain
around the perimeter and placed drainage pipe at the base of the foundation
footings. Finally, the foundation trenches were back filled with gravel.
A plumber installed the sewer pipe lines for the bathrooms and
showers.
This pipe will lie underneath the concrete slab.
